Good morning stampers!

We arrived safely back home from New Zealand Saturday night. Our total travel time home was just under 48 hours, and we are all suffering from a bad case of jet lag.

It is Monday morning and back to work for me...BOOOOO!

Before I start posting any projects, here are some vacation photos from the most beautiful place on earth.

This is my Nana Pam and my Nana Jean.

I cried so hard leaving them, I couldn't even spit out the words I love you.

Don't know if I will ever get to see them again.

These crabs were hiding in the rocks along the beach. There were tons of them.

This little blue penguin was found sitting on a rock ledge close to the beach.

We are not sure if he was hurt or sick, poor little thing.

My kids taking a turn feeding the lambs. Alicia wanted to take it home, lol.

My cousin's current garden. Jealous?? I am!

I'll be back in my studio soon, creating some new inspiration just for you!

Hello Stampers!

DAY 4 of our vacation:
Today I was in the city of Mangonui at a cute little shop. I met with the owner of the shop. She wants to start working with me to sell my stamps.... WooHooooo! I can't seem to stay away from work, even when I'm on vacation. HA!

Here is the view we wake up to every morning, from my cousin's house.

And here are my girls posing in the front yard. They both have decided they do not want to leave. All we have to do is convince Ron, and we will be moving! (good luck, right)

We are having so much fun here. Eating lots, drinking lots, and getting in plenty of family time.

Sassy Happy Birthday

Happy Friday bloggers! Today is my final post for the Creative Vision DT. I'm sad this term is over, Laura and her stamps are so amazing! I'm truly honored to have been on not only 1, but 2 of her DT's. Trust me, if she'd let me, I'd never leave! :) Anyway, I'm going out with a bang, humor in full effect. Here's my last card:

I used the Sassy Happy Birthday II set. This is by far, one of my favorite sets in the Creative Vision store. It is right up my sense of humor ally. I used some of Basic Grays Little Black Dress paper along with some of the Tim Holtz craft Core'dinations which I embossed with a leopard/cheetah print folder and sanded it.

I tied some black tool around the card that I put some gold dots of Stickles all over. I finished this off with a fun stick pin.

I inked my fun senti and added a few Stickles there as well.

Thank you everyone for all the great comments you have left on my projects and now get yourself over to the store and pick up this stamp set. I promise that you'll love it! Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

This will be the first trip for my kids, and they are super excited.

Let's Pucker Up for the Holidays....

Hi everyone. I am sad to say that this will be my last post as a DT member. I have had so much fun working with everyone and have had the chance to work with some amazing stamps. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

So on with todays project. I have created a really cute gum holder for you to give to your friends and family. I started with a pack of chicklets (any kind of gum will work). I cut my designer paper down to size and made a holder a little bigger than the pack of gum. (This way you can slide the pack of gum in and out) Then I added a prima flower with a brad and stamped the image "pucker up" from the lemonade stand stamp set.

This gift is so easy to make and turns out really cute. Who doesn't like gum?

Let It Snow!

Good morning!

Today, is my last post as a DT member, how sad, I can't believe how fast the last few months have gone. I really have enjoyed designing with Creative Vision Stamps!

I used my favorite stamp set "Let It Snow", as I just am in LOVE with this snowman! I guess it doesn't help that the kids and I are wishing we'd have snow for Christmas and want to be able to go outside and build a snowman! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we will have snow this year for Christmas, which is such a bummer the snow really gets a person in the Christmas spirit even more.

Let It Snow

Hello! It's Monday and it's Christy with my last post for the design team. This has been a wonderful journey for me and I am grateful to Laura for choosing me to be part of her team! Thanks Laura!!

For my last card I used the wonderful Let It Snow set, which I have had my eye on for a long time. Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE snowmen. This is an amazing set with tremendous versatility and, did I mention, fun?

For the background I inked my swirls cuttlebug folder with blue ink then embossed. My sentiment is stamped on decorative snowflake paper and then finished off wih inked eduges and stickles. My Christmas tree as well as the snowflakes are all done with stickles as well.

Just a little gift....

Hello everyone. Today I have for you a little gift idea that I came up with when I was prepairing for my last craft show. This is a mini bottle of hand sanatizer that I picked up at my local dollar store. You got three bottles for just $1 which is a great deal. I wrapped it with some designer paper and added a ribbon to it. I then used the "squeeze me" stamp from the lemonade stand stamp set to add a setiment to the front of the bottle. I love the way it turned out.

A Tutorial on Stamp Masking

Good Morning Stampers! It's Christy here on this wonderful Friday with a fun tutorial for you called stamp masking. Stamp masking is used when you want to create a scene for a card or layer some images together. For this particular project I used the Lemonade Stand set, which you can buy HERE. This is a great set for so many projects I would recommend if you don't have it to buy it!

Grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy the tutorial!

Here are the items you will need for this project:

Ink, stamps, scissors, white cardstock or post it notes, markers, sponge daubers, pop dots, stickles, adhesive, and a 10-3/4 by 9" piece of cardstock for card base.

Step 1: Stamp all images you want to use for your project. There are two ways you can do this. You can stamp on cardstock, which I have done below, or you can stamp the image on a post it note so that it sticks to the card as you are layering the images. It is completely your preference. I chose the cardstock because it is more durable. For this project I used the following 4 images:

Step 2: Cut out the images you stamped. These will be used as the masks to build your scene on your card.

Step 3: On your card, start building your scene. For this particular one I started with my sign then added my money amount.

Step 3a: Take the images you stamped for your masks and put them together to see how you want your finished scene to look.

Step 4: On your card, stamp the girl first.

Step 4a: Place your girl mask over the image you just stamped.

Step 4b: Line up all edges of mask with the image you stamped.

Step 5: Stamp the glass into the girl's hand. You may have to hold your mask down so it won't lift.

Step 5a: Here is what your image will look like when you remove the mask of the girl. She should be holding the glass in her hand.

Step 5b: This is how your card should look after the girl and the glass are stamped.

Step 6: Place stamp masks over the girl and the cup and then stamp the lemonade stand.

Step 7: Place all stamp masks over the images that were stamped. Then ink your background. For this card I used a blue sky.

Step 8: Ink sky in blue and then leave stamp masks on to ink the grass green.

Step 9: After you ink grass and sky, color your images, then add clouds and a sun or whatever you choose to finish up your scene.

Step 10: Remove all masks and finish card. For this particular card I chose to add a sparkle sun (with stickles) and clouds, which have pop dots behind them to give them dimension.

Once your card is completed, you will have a beautifully created scene that looks awesome when your stamps are layered. Although this technique takes some time, it is well worth the finished product!! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful scrappy day!

Hooked on Fishing

Hello bloggers and happy Thursday. Chelsea here bringing you a layout using the oh so fun Hooked on Fishing set. I also used the emboss resist technique Lauren posted which can be found HERE. It was so easy and fun. I used Distress Inks instead of chalks and it worked just as good. Well, I'm not waiting for the fish to bite so I'm going to get on with this post....

I had some of this fun fish paper left over from the card I made with this set the last time I was on Creative Vision's DT. It's so cute! I added a picture of my brother and I from WAY back in the day. If you look close, he's holding a little fishy on the end of his mini pole.

I used the resist on the tag and the worm and the bobber. I popped the worm and bobber to finish off the layout. May sure you hurry over to the store and pick up this set for your favorite outdoorsy stamper!

Adorable Snowman

Good morning stampers! I have a cute snowman card to share with you today! I just LOVE the Let It Snow stamp set. I am using the snowman, snowflakes and two sentiments from the set for my card today.

First, I created a sketch to go off of:

Then went to work creating my card....

I used the adorable snowman for the top of my card and the let it snow sentiment for the bottom. Added some snowflake dies, ribbon and some pearls to add the perfect touch.

Inside:

I used another sentiment from the set for the inside, along with the snowflakes to add a little something to the inside.

I really like how it turned out and I hope you do as well. I just love the colors together along with the wonderful stamps!!

Holiday Coaster Photo Frame

Well it's my last post as a Design Team member :( I've had a great time and I want to thank Laura for allowing me to be a part of the team these past months.

My final project is a great, simple gift idea - quick to assemble and perfect for a little something for a special someone. Here's a picture frame made from coasters - take a look:

To start, I grabbed 2 4x4 coasters. You can find these in a multitude of places online for only pennies a piece so this project is economical as well as quick. I cut 2 pieces of DP (from Bo Bunny) and adhered the paper to one side of each coaster. I love how the piece on the left has the larger words Christmas Traditions. Worked out well for the photo I was planning on adding.

I then stamped the tree and the Merry and Bright sentiment from the Let it Snow set from Creative Vision. I colored both images with Copic markers and carefully cut around each. The tree was added to one coaster and the sentiment was added a little over the bottom corner of the matted photo (of our family tree). I added a little sparkle to the stamped images because what's Christmas without some bling??

To hook the two coasters together, I used the Crop-a-dile puncher to punch two holes in each coaster. Using this tool you can actually punch both coasters at the same time which works perfectly and ensures your holes line up exactly. Then I threaded some ribbon through the holes (this ribbon is white velvet) and tie a loose knot on the back side so you can open and close the coasters - open to stand up, closed to store or mail to a friend :)

In case you can't read it, I also added a small piece on the left side of the frame that says:
1. string the lights
2. hang ornaments
3. finish with garland
4. "Ooo" and "Ahh"

Yep, that's our Christmas Tradition when it comes to tree decorating!

This project took approximately an hour and a half to complete (and that was a little long due to hand cutting the images). Imagine this with photos of the kids, or the family pets at holiday time! So many uses, I'm sure you'll think of a fabulous way to create your own coaster photo frame.

Altered Brown Lunch Bag

Hello Stampers,

My countdown for Christmas has started!! I'm in full swing of making gifts for friends and family. In our family, we try to teach our kids that Christmas is a time of giving and take the focus off getting Christmas presents. Inevitably, I always miscalculate how many boxes/packaging I need and I end up having to make my own gift bag. So I'm sharing my quick and easy gift bag made from a simple everyday brown lunch bag.

I used CV0076 Holiday Sentiments to make the tag on the bag. Come on over to my blog to find out how I made this bag.

GRINCH Found, Captured and Arrested!

Residents of Who-Ville sigh in relief as news of the Grinch's arrest travels through their small town.

Who-Police Chief You Who held a press conference late this afternoon. "Who-ville is once again safe. We were able to recover some of the stolen property from Laura Lou Who's studio, a total value of $125.00. We were also able to recover the cure, 2 blue candy canes, for Grinchitous. All residents with pets suffering from the virus should report to Who-Ville Pet Vet Dr. Who-needsascratchyscratch."

The Grinch was captured in Kathy Who's# 10 Random numbers generated Dec 9 2011 at 18:31:45 by www.psychicscience.orgkitchen. He was helping his self to her famous Who-Fruit Cake, that weighed 85 lbs. While trying to lift it out of the fridge, he threw out his back and couldn't run away. Kathy Who called police immediately. He was arrested at 6:00pm.

Did you know The Grinch lives on snowy Mount Crumpit, a mountain north of friendly Who-ville. The Grinch keeps to himself, living only with his dog, Max. Characterized as having a heart "two sizes too small," the Grinch becomes annoyed by the sounds of Happy Who-Stampers.

BUT one Who-Stamper in particular bothered him more than any other, Laura Lou Who. The noise from her studio annoyed the Grinch all year long. It was a constant racket - with all her stamp, stamp, stamping.

The Grinch could take it no more. With an evil smile on his face he gathered his thoughts, and laid out a plan. He hitched up his sleigh and was soon on his Grinch Grinchy way.......

Tie Dye Paper Tutorial

Hello to all my bloggin' friends. Today I have a fun tutorial for you. I have been using this technique for quite awhile and finally decided to share my "secret" on how to create it with all of you.

What you'll need:

Distress Inks in various colors, Glimmer Mist or Smooch Spray in matching colors, white cardstock, Cutrtlebug and favorite folders, Distress Ink in Black Soot.

First smudge the colors all over your cardstock, make sure there are no white spaces.

(I know, mine has white spaces) then spary the matching Glimmer Mist over the same colored areas.

It will look something like the above picture.

When the sprays are dry, cut into the sizes you want to use. I used 4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. Then run these cut pieces through your Cuttlebug using your favorite folders.

Using Black Soot Distress Ink sponge the ink over the embossed areas. This will really make the embossing stand out.

Now pick your favorite design and create your card with it.

I used Sassy Happy Birthday II for my card. I love the way it turned out. I popped the senti of course and added some bakers twine to finish off the card. Very easy and very fun.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Steph checking in again with a Christmas page layout. This one stumped me a little - since I chose a sentiment stamp set to work with, I was wondering how I would be creating an entire layout with just sentiments. But as I looked through the stamp set I had, I discovered that Laura's stamps are so versatile that I actually found a very appropriate one for the picture I am using for the layout.

Here is a sketch I was working with:

I didn't follow the sketch exactly but used it as a spring board for inspiration instead. I flipped the sketch vertically and flower border was my impetus for my Christmas tree cutout on my layout ... the rest as they say is history. Here is my layout:

Don't you think the sentiment is so appropriate to the photo - I had a chuckle when I saw that. The sentiment came from set CV0076 Holiday Sentiment. Enjoy!

Good Morning!! I have a fun winter card for you today as the holidays are right around the corner. It's hard to believe that Christmas is only 31 days away. Hopefully you are hanging in there and enjoying the holiday season.

I used the bird from Hello Hunny and colored him in grey and blue marker. Then I enhanced his scarf with some crystal stickles. For the first time too, I used my sewing machine to attach the blue ribbon to the back of the card. My white paper is embossed using the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder and the sentiment is cut in winter designer paper using the Cricut.

Altered Candle

Hey, Lauren here! Making candles is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time. They make awesome and inexpensive gifts!

I stamped the images on (gift) tissue paper and colored them in. Then I placed the tissue paper on the candle and used kitchen wax paper to wrap around the candle. I heated it with a heat gun and it was done! Easy peasy!

Post-It Note Holder

Awhile back when I was looking around blogland I found a fun tutorial to create post-it note holders! (I love post-it notes) I thought what a fun idea for a little gift for people. So I decided this holiday season I was going to make some.

I acutally created two to share today using an adorable snowman stamp from Creative Vision! I love snowman so when I seen the "Let It Snow" set I just had to have it! ;) There is also a really fun tree in the set that I love!!

Here are my post-it note holders:

Inside:

I used the Let It Snow sentiment from the set in the inside of this holder. I also used the tiny snowflakes from the set to add some snowflakes to the top post-it to just tie the whole project together.

My second holder:

On this one I used the sentiment on the front.

Again I used the tiny snowflakes on the first post-it.

Just something fun I also did with the small snowflakes that I wanted to share:

I used some patterned snowflake paper, but thought it would be fun to use the tiny snowflakes to add more to the paper. The piece on the left has the added stamped snowflakes, where the one on the right is an original piece of the paper. Kind fun, plus just makes another use for those stamps.

Hello bloggers! Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great day! I'm here today to bring you an elegant Thank You card. I used the Thank You set by Creative Vision. I absolutely adore this set. I know I say that about all of them but until I got this set, all my thank you cards had the same saying, now I'm versitile! On to my card:

I used some paper from Creative Imaginations that I've been hording (I'm so bad at that). I made the cut with my cricut from the Home Decor cartridge. I love this frame.

I had some paper flowers and some already crinkled ribbon that I pulled a thread out of to make it sinch up like it is.

Finished it off with some liquid pearls and some Glimmer Mist. Oh and don't forget the pop dots to lift the frame. Aside from bling, the next best thing on a card is pop dots! Hope everyone is having a great day, thanks for stopping by.

Drink Tag Tutorial

Hi, Its me again! Im back to show you how to make a cute but simple drink tag so that your friends and family can keep their drinks straight at your next gathering.

So to start things off you will need the following items: 3 colors of cardstock, 1 sheet of patterned paper, paper trimmer, border punch, adhesive, hole punch, ribbon or string, stamps of your choice, ink of your choice and markers of your choice.

So now that you have all of your supplies together lets get started!

You need to cut your paper to the following sizes:

Cardstock #1: 3"x 2 1/2"

Cardstock #2 (white): 1" x 1 3/4"

Cardstock #3: 1 1/4" x 2"

Patterned Paper: 3 1/2" x 2"

For the first step you will need cardstock #1 and the border punch

Using the border punch, punch one side of the long side of the cardstock as shown

Then using your adhesive, attach the piece of patterned paper to the piece of punched cardstock

Then taking the white piece of cardstock, stamp and color your images

After you have completed that step, using your adhesive attach your stamped piece to your last piece of cardstock.

Now you are almost finished. Its time to place your stamped piece to the base of your tag.

And now for the final step, using your hole punch, punch a hole in the upper corner and attach your ribbon or string.

Now you have a beautiful drink tag for your friends and family to use at your next gathering.

Inky Background Tutorial

Hi again - Mary here with a technique tutorial for you that I think you will enjoy. I call it the Inky Background technique, although it might have a different name elsewhere. Here's what you need to create this technique:

1 piece of printer paper - something lightweight, not cardstock
2 ink pads - complementary colors or one light/one dark
spritz bottle with water and a rubber brayer (optional)

Start with the lighter of the two ink pad colors and apply the ink to the paper by dabbing and swiping the ink pad surface directly to the paper. Leave some white spaces along the way.

Your paper will look like this when the 1st step is complete:

Now the fun part. Take this paper and carefully scrunchle it into a ball. (Yes, scrunchle is a word - I just made it up).

Carefully again, unscrunchle and press the paper as flat as you can using your hands. Grab your second ink pad and lightly repeat the process of swiping the ink pad surface over the paper. Be careful not to apply too much ink although there is really no wrong way. The crinkles on the paper will pick up this 2nd color of ink like this:

Now this next step is optional but I like the end results so it's worth the little time it takes. Lightly spritz some water across the surface of the paper and using a clean, dry rubber brayer, roll across the paper, back and forth. This will do 2 things: flatten the paper a little more and blend the inks together a bit. Here is the finished paper:

Set the paper aside to dry before trying to cut it. I take this time to get the rest of my card "parts" ready for assembly. When it's time to put together your card, cut your background from your inked paper in an area that appeals to you the most. This usually winds up being the center of the paper where the best inking occurred. You can also add additional stamped images to the background as I did on my card:

I stamped the tiny snowflake from the Let it Snow set on my inked background paper and then added my color coordinated snowfella from the same set to the card front. The snow mounds were die cut from felt and added to the bottom of the card, extending a little past the edges. As my card is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 in size, having the snow extend beyond the edges won't cause a problem when I go to put this card in a standard envelope. On the inside is the sentiment "Wishing you snow much fun this holiday season", also from the same stamp set.

I hope you've enjoyed this little technique and give a try yourself sometime. It also works great with autumn colors and silhouette images stamped directly on the background (think trees)....have fun!

I LOVE making gift tags, wanna know why? It helps me use up a ton of scrap paper, AND it stocks up my craft fair inventory. These tags are SUPER quick and easy to make.

1. Cut a piece of paper 6" x 3"
(I like to use Card Stock weight Design paper that is white on one side)

2. Score your paper on the 6" side at 3" (or right in the middle)

3. Fold in half DP on the outside

4. Using a punch, round the bottom of each corner - don't forget the back panel

5. Cut a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" square of plain color card stock, and decorate, and adhere to the front panel of the gift card.

6. I punched a small hole in the upper left corner, cut some waxed twine 12" long, pair up the ends and fold in half. Then thread it through the hole and tie a knot.

For these two tags I used a sentiment stamps from my
Christmas set titled "Wishing You".

I put this set on DEAL OF THE DAY

today, if you want to buy this set and create some tags

like this of your own.

I used two different inks to create a blended look on this first tag.
I LOVE doing that...it really makes the sentiment more festive!

Then I popped on a little holly berry sticker from K&Company.
I am not a fan of stickers, but I do LOVE those layered accent ones.

For this tag I used a stamp from my set titled " Jingle Jangle"

I used a gold glitter pen on the bells, but they don't look as good in
the photo as they do in person.

In person those bells SPARKLE and SHINE bright!

At my craft fairs I sell these in packs of 4 for $1.00.

I make more than just Christmas tags for my fairs. I have

wedding ones, birthday ones, etc. No matter which ones

I have on hand, they always sell out fast!

Good morning scrappers and crafters! Today I have a card using the cute Hello HunnyH set. This set is so versatile. You really should add this set to your collection if you don't have it yet.

I'm also bringing you a sketch today created by yours truly. My card was done with this sketch as well:

And here's my card:

I used some great papers from My Minds Eye and colored cute Hunny with Copics that matched the paper.

I added a double stacked button embellie, tied it with some twine to make it look finished.

I added some ribbon and some liquid pearls in brown along with my senti. This senti you should know comes in 1 long line but most of my acrylic stamps have fear of the exacto knife. Most senti's have been sliced and diced so I can align them on my card how I want. If you decide to do this be very careful, acrylic stamps do tear so make sure they are cut all the way through before you try to separate them.

Emboss Resist Tutorial

Hello! Lauren here.

This is the first tutorial I've ever posted, and I am excited to share it with you. One of my favorite techniques is emboss resist.

Supplies:
Versamark Ink Pad
Stamp (I used "Let it Snow")
Clear embossing powder
Heat gun
Any color ink pad
Sponge daubers, sponges, or eyeshadow applicators

I started out by stamping my image in versamark. You won't be able to see it, since it is clear. Put the embossing powder over top. Heat with heat gun until it becomes shiny.

Get out your ink pads and begin sponging a color over top of your image. Start with the lightest colors first. You can always apply more.

Keep applying ink until you get the desired result. Ink does not go over top of the embossing, so you will be able to see your image through the ink.

I did the same thing with the sentiment.

Tutorial - Making A Handmade Flower

Good morning everyone,

It's Steph checking in again this month and bringing you a tutorial on how to make a handmade flower.

This is a very easy flower for a beginner so anyone can do it really. All you need are some basic crafting supplies:

Scalloped punch (or scalloped die) - size of scallop determines size of flower.
Tissue paper
Twine

Directions:

1. Fold tissue paper in half and continuing folding it in half until you get about 12-15 layers.
(doesn't have to be accurate and tissue doesn't have to be new and uncreased - you are going to be scrunching it up anyways)

2. Punch out a scallop from your folded tissue paper.

3.Punch two small holes in the center and thread twine through the holes and tie a knot.

4. Flip the knotted scalloped circle over and start gathering each layer of tissue towards the center.

5. Once all the layers are gathered, start pulling layers down one by one (starting from the outer layer) to form a flower.

Tada!!! You have your handmade flower. Easy Peasy and very cheap flower that looks like you actually bought it.

Blow Out Your Candles...

Good morning! I have a very simple birthday card I created that I'd like to share with you this morning.

For this card I used the sentiment single "Cake on Fire".

But I decided I wanted to use it a little differently and show you how you can get uses out of your stamps in different ways.

I used a post-it note to cover up parts of the stamp so I could ink it up without getting all the words.

I first stamped the first line "Blow out your", cleaned off the stamp and then masked it again to just get the word "candles" on the second line.

I stamped it on the front of the card to just read "Blow out your candles".

I used the end of a paint brushed dipped in the ink to add the little dots after the sentiment. The candles were cut from my Cricut.

I didn't want to used "before the cake starts on fire" so that I could use this for a younger girls birthday.

The inside sentiment was made in Word and printed out.

Lastly, I added some shimmer to the candles.

Swirls and Bling

Good Morning!! I hope this Monday morning is finding you happy and well. Today I have created an altered item for you using the Hello Hunny set.

I took a large light switch plate in white, covered it with white tissue paper then covered with mod podge. I did this twice to get two strong layers of tissue paper on the cover. After it was dry I stamped my image in black then let dry. Once dry I added my ribbon and bling, then sponged some pink and purple ink over the plate. Once everything was ready I put a final coat of mod podge on the switch and let dry completely.

My daughter completely loved this idea and wants to make one for her room!! Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you have a wonderful, crafty day!

Mary here, with a card to share today. I have been looking forward to breaking out this stamp since it came to live with me and now I have the perfect opportunity! A friend of mine has been under the weather and needs a little pampering so this is perfect for her!

Don't you just love sweat pants days? I think we can all use them every once in awhile!! Especially when you're feeling less than yourself.

I used felt for the area at the bottom of the card separated by two bands of saddle stitched ribbon. This reminded me of the feel of sweat pants, as well as the stripes they sometimes have along the leg. The sentiment, of course, just says it all! And on the inside?

A little treat to enjoy while you're hanging out in your sweats - a gift certificate for a new book for your Kindle! I haven't even been under the weather and I know I could use a goody like this!

Creating Flowers with Stamps

Good morning stampers!

I have a card I created with some of the Creative Vision Stamps that I want to share with you this morning.

Here's my card:

I used the "Thank You" set for this card. When I seen this set, I just knew I had to have it as I loved the entire set.

This is the stamp that caught my eye right away:

I thought it would be fun to use the center flower to make flowers for a card!!

I began by inking up the stamp and using a sponge to add shimmer to the stamp as well.

I used two different ink colors and stamped the image a few times, just to get a few good ones to work with.

I then cut them out.

Just look at them:

What a great way to extend the use of this stamp by making your own flower embellishments!! I really like how they turned out!!

The main sentiment of the card I used the masking technique:

as the actual stamp reads "thanks for everything". I used a post-it note to cover up the "for everything" and then stamped just the "thanks.

This set really has so many options, I really love it!

Finally, here is the inside of my card, in which I have another flower as well the complete sentiment.

Cake on Fire & A Sketch

I created some candles with my cricut machine to go with this cute sentiment. Since it was a larger sentiment, I split it in half so that it could be on both sides of the image. Here's my card:

Happy Birthday My Sassy Friends

Chelsea here checking in on this beautiful Thursday and it's so good to be back! I was on Creative Visions DT 3 and had such a great time with such a great group of girls I just had to apply again. I missed Laura and her amazing designs too!

Today I'm bringing you an altered project using Creative Vision stamps. Scrapbooking and card making is my 1st addiction in the crafting world but paint it yours pottery is my 2nd. So I thought what a better way to showcase Creative Vision stamps than on a piece of pottery so here we are:

I used Sassy Happy Birthday from Creative Vision. I first painted the little platter in pink and then stamped the cuppy and senti on the plate and filled it all in with some color.

I also thought the cuppy needed a cute little pick so I put this one together. I just cut a few circles and inked the inner one. I stamped the cuppy from Sassy Happy Birthday on it and added lots of Stickles. It's the perfect little surprise for someone having a birthday coming up.

A Sweet Start to the Week

Happy Monday Morning Stampers!! It's Christy here easing you into the week with a fun little birthday invitation. I used the Surprise Party set to complete this project. This is such a fun a versatile set which can be used for any birthday or anniversary occasion. The design for my card comes from the criss-cross tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers, which you can find HERE. These cards are so fun and if you haven't made one yet you certainly must try one. They are super easy to put together.

I pulled some cute theme park paper and then matched pink and brown to complete my card. Edges are inked in Stampin Up Close to Cocoa. I used my Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge to make the fun ice cream cones and then I used some crystal effects on top of the ice cream. All stamps are inked in black.

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Hi everyone!

I'm Mary, one of the new DT members, here to share a scrapbook layout with you featuring some embellishments I stamped with the Lemonade Stand set. When I first saw this set, I just knew I had to have it as I had the perfect photos to use on a scrapbook page. Take a look:

Earlier this summer, during a brief but strong storm, a large section of a tree in our backyard came down and damaged our roof. The good news is that insurance covered the cost to repair more than half of our existing roof and we paid the difference to have the whole roof redone - we it desperately needed!!! So the sentiment of these stamps are a perfect fit for the occasion - When Life Gives Your Lemons...Make Lemonade! The result is a new roof that will last the next 20 years!

Here is a sketch that I designed for this layout - I hope it will inspire you to get creative this week!

To show off my style I thought I would share something I LOVE DOING - creating items for craft fairs. This is a cute little gift card holder. All summer I have been working my guts out building up my show inventory. Every year I run out early, BUT not this year! I have paper cuts on my paper cuts! I have a bunch of new super cute items too! If I run out this year, I am gonna need another set of hands next year. HA!

I made this cute little gift card holder using a Big Shot and a die template. Then I used my stamps, some ribbon, circle and scallop punches to embellish and finish it off. Good Morning Stampers!

Calling all creative paper crafters! Are you a team player? Have you always wanted to be on a design team but feel you don't have the time? I am now accepting applications for Creative Vision's DESIGN TEAM 6. Call ends August 12th, with team announced August 15th.

This team will be our largest and most flexible to date.This design team call is open to everyone (in the United States only, sorry) even if you have been on our team before. AND best of all, you choose the stamps you want to work with!

Here are the details and requirements:

Team positions available up to 25
Team members must have their own crafting blog, and be active on several other paper crafting web communities such as Splitcoaststampers, Two Peas, The Outlaws, PaperCraft Planet, etc. Being active on these sites means you post to these sites at least once a week.
Team term is from September 1st - December 31, 2011
Each team member will post a minimum of 4 times (comes out to once a month) during the entire 4 month term on the company blog, as well as dedicating one day a month to Creative Vision on their paper crafting blog:

Creating One Card or Scrapbook page with a Sketch to share
Creating One Project with a Technique of choice
Creating One Paper Craft (not card or scrapbook page)

Big hugs to you! All good things, as they say, must come to an end. And this is one of them. I want to say that I really had an awesome time creating for Creative Vision with the rest of the Design Team 5, and I want to thank Ms. Laura for a very wonderful opportunity. I appreciate you, dear craft reader, for visiting us here in the Creative Vision blog, epsecially during the DT5 term. It was all fun!

For my last CV project, I played with stamps from the Arms of Jesus set. This card closes in an unconventional way, where the flap is tucked under the main image.

Officially Single

It's hump day crafty reader! That means two more work days, and then it's the three-day weekend... yeah!

Anyway, for my Wednesday project, I played with the "Officially Single" stamp set. This time, I wanted to do something different. It's a key chain made of melted UTEE, with the image sorta floating inside. I stamped and embossed the image on vellum, then cut with Spellbinders. The shape was achieved with the use of a plastic cookie cutter.

See the pink dots? They are actually pigment powder that I mixed with the UTEE.

Materials used:

image/sentiment: Creative Vision "Officially Single"

ink: Tsukineko

tools: Spellbinders, heat gun, cookie cutter

embellishment: ribbon

misc.: Pearl Ex pigment powder, paper clip, Ranger embossing powder

You know what else you can do with this key chain? It can also be a pendant. A long pink ribbon can serve as the necklace.

Hello! I am back. So sorry to be MIA last week. I had a bad case of dizziness!

This week I have a fun project to do for birthday favors or party favors...even weddings! I used a pillow box from The Cutting Cafe and decorated it with Laura's adorable Thank you set. I also made a matching mini card. The Pillow box will hold a pocket pack of Kleenex. You could also fill it with candy.

Hope this inspires you to make your own Thank You Treats for your next gathering!

Quick and Easy Card

Just a quick card for this Monday. I used the sentiment 'today is SPECIAL just like you' from the Hip Hip Hooray stamp set. This card is quick, easy and a great way to use up your scrap paper you have sitting around.

What to make this card?
1. Cut your white cardstock 3 1/2 x 8 1/2, fold at 4 1/4. Round all four corners. This will be your base card.
2. Pink cardstock punch two - 1 3/8 squares. Round three of the corners.
3. Emboss the pink squares using the Spot & Dots embossing folder.
4. Light blue cardstock punch two - 1 3/8 squares. Round three of the corners.
5. Emboss the light blue cardstock using the circles embossing folder.
6. Adhere pieces to base card. Place layered sticker in the center.
7. Stamp with black ink the sentiment and emboss with clear embossing powder.

Book Fart

Ooops.... I meant BOOK MARK. That's my Creative Project for today, which you can say is sorta spunky. Well, the sentiment I used is out of the norm - one of the things I like about Creative Clear Stamps. This one is a single stamp called "You Old Fart".

See the folding in the background? I cut those with a craft knife following a pattern, then folded to achieve that look.

Again, this bookmark is more meant for guys to use, so there are no flowers or swirls involved. I tried to make the design as simple as possible, using minimal embellishments so as not to leave dents on book pages. The book you see is actually being read by DH at the moment, and I thought this bookmark is perfect for him to use (definitely no pun intended!). The colors I used actually matched the cover of his book.

Altered Altoid Tin

Hello creative peeps! As you may already know, I'll be covering for Molly for the rest of May. I hope you won't get tired of me... hee hee!

Before I move on, I have a confession to make. I'm an Altoid junkie. Yeah. I usually have one in my purse, one at work, one at home and another one in the car. You are right, I keep all the tins because you can alter them in a good number of ways.

With that being said, I made this stationery set showcasing stamps from Creative Vision's Arms of Jesus set:

The first step is to sand the cover, especially erasing the "black" images on the label so it won't show through. I also sanded the edges for more character. After that, I cut my new cover (3.5 x 2 3/16 inches), corner-rounded, inked and stamped with my images of choice.

As you can see in the photo below, I cut my stationery (3 3/8 x 2 1/16 inches), enough to fill the Altoid tin. Another thing I like about this project is that I get to use my white cardstock scraps. After rounding the corners (it will save you time if you have those heavy duty corner rounders), I inked each piece with red and green, matching the colors of my cover. Then I stamped each piece with the same image.

You know what my favorite part is? When you open the Altoid tin all the way, the stationery pops out so it's easy to grab a piece each time you need one. And when you close the tin, you can use it to write on the stationery.

I designed this stationery set so that it can be put in a purse without having to worry about embellishments being pulled off. To achieve that, I try to make the cover as flat as possible, using mainly stamps. This is really handy when I need to leave notes for someone, or give somebody my contact number or craft website. It can be anything you want - a collection of favorite quotes, images to color, ideas... the possibilies are endless!

Our Tuesday girl (Jenn) is sick today and cannot be with us to share her weekly work.

First I will share a little something something from my "Thank You" stamp set...

Have I told you lately that I love my CRICUT machine?

I tell ya stampers, since my Carpal Tunnel surgeries my

left hand is worse than ever. GEEZZZ I wish I would not

have gotten that one done. I can't even bend my thumb..ANYWHOOO...

my cricut helps me a ton on the days it is too hard for me to work with punches.

Since I make about 500 cards

a year for my craft fair season, and you can imagine how many punches that comes out

to. Well my cricut just whips them out, quick as can be - and pain free!

And now some other news....

want to meet me face to face? This weekend I will be at

the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Milwaukee.

On a side note, I just had to share a Prom picture with you all.

My daughter Alicia and her group of 12 friends went this past Saturday.

The girls got ready here and the boys came later - and my house was CRAZYYYY!

Then we hosted an after Prom party,

but the kids were so tired from dancing - most went right to bed.

So much for the big party.

Rachelle was home from college, and was glad she didn't miss her sister's big night.

Dance Moves

Hi Stampers, welcome back. I have another FABULOUS card for you today and this time I coupled it with the Officially Single Stamp set. This rubber stamp design is great for layering using paper piecing techniques which I did for her dress.

The inside of the card reads, 'I suggest practicing some new dance moves!' Did you notice the swirls? Would you believe if I said they are the antlers from a Sizzix Reindeer die? I challenge you this week to think out-side-the box when it comes to your stamps and supplies.

A Time for Prayer (book)

Guess what today is?

Today I am sharing a Prayer Book I made.

Ohh about a month ago I found colored 4 x7 pads of paper at a flea market. (LOVE EM)

I didn't exactly know what I was going to do with them, until just the other day.

And so.... I thought

A Prayer Book for my father-in-law's birthday would be a nice present.

Since his wife died 1 1/2 years ago, he has retired from our family business and starting going on missions with his church. He travels all across the country helping those in need. The stories he brings back

about the people he meets can literally bring tears to your eyes.

He has been doing a lot of praying these days, not only for himself - but for those less fortunate.

This little book has a pocket with prayer cards on one side, and a pad of paper on the other. I stamped each page with sentiments from my "Time for Prayer" clear stamp set.

I added a thick brown ribbon to the binding for extra support.

Now he can write down his prayers, or the names of the people he is praying for.

Maybe even a few of his favorite verses.

Anyway he uses this Prayer Book I know he is going to love it

because it is hand made - the best kind of gift!

Greetings, crafty friends! My card this week features stamps from two of the Creative Vision sets: Surprise Party and Sassy Happy Birthday II. I have been wanting to create something with this darling turtle from Surprise Party, and finally a light bulb sorta literally "dinged" on top of my head.

Armed with my alcohol markers, I started coloring. And to draw more attention to the image, I layered my DP with vellum. After that, I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Sassy Happy Birthday II.

cardstock/dp: Stampin' Up, K & Co., Copic, vellum, leftovers

Good Morning Stampers!

Usually Molly is here to share her inspiration, but I have to report she recently stepped down from the team. After the devastating weather hit in her area, it was simply too hard for her to continue her team commitment.

Molly also hosted our Saturday Challenge. That I am afraid, will end as well.

At this time I don't have anyone to take over. Sorry about that!

But I am here YEAH! And next Wednesday our Thursday girl (Joan) will be here. YEAH again!

Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.

This is my very first time using Nesties. WOW do I love them. I have a bug but having this cool shape and having it dry embossed around the edges makes for such a beautiful piece. The stamp is from the Thank You set. It fits the Nestie just perfect. I added a handmade pin using Swarovski crystals! Hope you are inspired to try out the Creative Clear Stamps with your Nesties.

Birthday Bear

Well here we are into May already. I can't believe how fast time goes by..

To create today's card, you will need to stamp the birthday bear image from the Hip Hip Hooray set on white card stock. I choose to color the birthday bear with Copic markers. Did you notice the oval emboss frame? You too can re-create this by using an oval photo mat. You will need to insert your white cardstock into an embossing folder of your choice, next layer on top of the folder your oval photo mat. Next, run the stack through a die cut machine. The center of the oval will be smooth which is perfect surface for stamping. Enjoy your day, D'Anne.

Hi crafty friends! My project this week is a picture frame featuring a stamp from the "Hooked On Fishing" set. The photo was taken during our first visit to Lake Tahoe in Nevada. The sentiment is perfect to preserve that special memory 4 years ago.

For the stand, I just used a piece of chipboard which I attached to back of the frame with brads. Then I scored at an inch from the top edge to achieve a straight fold.

I am just loving that it is May! Only 3 more weeks of school!!! Then the real fun begins...swimming, camp, and just being outside. Here in Colorado, we take what we can get as it is cold a lot longer than it is warm. I am such a summer nut that I started wearing sandals when the temp reached 40! Anyway, back to school. Those teachers work so hard during the year, sometimes all they really need is a note to know that they are appreciated. This is a fun almost "vintage" style using the Thank You set. Hope you are all ready for that warm weather. Thanks for visiting!

Today is Special

It's time for another Monday with D'Anne. I created an elegant Mother's day card to share with you today.

Stamp the sentiment 'today is Special just like you' from the Hip Hip Hooray set on cream cardstock in black ink and then heat emboss. Next, layer the sentiment on dark blue cardstock for added interest. The flowers were punched out of cream cardstock and then I used a soft pad and a score tool to give the flowers life.

ALTERED GIFTS

Silly Boys, Girls Hunt Too!

For those of you that don't know, last week my friend and I spent 4 days

hunting turkeys together. Just two girls in the woods looking for

the big TOM. We had no luck this year, but it was fun anyway.

My weekend with her inspired the idea for this week's challenge, Altered Gifts.

Using my new release "Gone Hunting" I created a little matching note card and gift

I know she is going to LOVE! I wrapped a small bottle of lotion from

the Bath and Body Company, scented "Country Chic".
(How perfect is that for my "Country Girl" friend!)

Then I stamped two sentiments from the Gone Hunting set, onto each item.

I also covered a white matchbox, and stamped turkey tracks on it.
This cute little box fits the bottle of lotion perfectly!

I know my turkey hunting buddy is going to LOVE this sweet and personal gift.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hi creative friends! Can you believe April is almost over??? I know I have said this before, but I'm sooo ready for Spring! Yeah!

My project for this week is a masculine birthday card, featuring stamps from the Sassy Birthday set. It's sorta like a pop-up card, but also a gift card holder. I didn't want it to be too fancy in the front, since the intended receiver is a male person.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter Weekend! Can't believe it is Tuesday again! So I was exploring the craft shop and came across this neat little find...cards with patterns.
