1, 2, 3...this sure isn't a card!

For my tutorial this week, I decided to show how I made an advent calendar.  This is my very first attempt and I think it turned out pretty good!  I used the CCS stamp set Bunch A Numbers to make the calendar.  I started with the following items:  wipe-off magnetic board, small metal treat containers, small round sticky-back magnets, various designs of holiday themed designer papers, a scallop punch, black ink and holiday themed stickers or punch-outs.

I started by punching out 25 different scallop circles from designer paper.  The punches fit perfect on the metal container lids.  I laid out the punches in the order I wanted them numbered.

Next I stamped the numbers 1 through 25 on the scallop circles using the Bunch A Numbers stamp set and black ink.

Then I used sticky dots to adhere scallop circles to container lids.

After that, I adhered a round magnet to each container on the bottom side.

I filled each container with goodies.

I made a topper for the wipe-off board using designer printed cardstock and punch-outs that were included in the pack of paper.  I also adhered a scallop border around the topper.  I put magnets at the lower bottom of the topper so I would be able to remove the topper for storage, or I can make a couple different toppers and change them out every so often.  This way, the wipe-off board remains usable any other time of the year.

Finish off the advent calendar by placing the metal containers onto the wipe-off magnetic board.  They can be easily removed and treats can taken out.

ENJOY!

Thanks for looking,
Shelly
