Hooked on Fishing

Hello bloggers and happy Thursday. Chelsea here bringing you a layout using the oh so fun Hooked on Fishing set. I also used the emboss resist technique Lauren posted which can be found HERE. It was so easy and fun. I used Distress Inks instead of chalks and it worked just as good. Well, I'm not waiting for the fish to bite so I'm going to get on with this post....

 I had some of this fun fish paper left over from the card I made with this set the last time I was on Creative Vision's DT. It's so cute! I added a picture of my brother and I from WAY back in the day. If you look close, he's holding a little fishy on the end of his mini pole.

I used the resist on the tag and the worm and the bobber. I popped the worm and bobber to finish off the layout. May sure you hurry over to the store and pick up this set for your favorite outdoorsy stamper!

Lake People

Hi crafty friends!  My project this week is a picture frame featuring a stamp from the "Hooked On Fishing" set.  The photo was taken during our first visit to Lake Tahoe in Nevada.  The sentiment is perfect to preserve that special memory 4 years ago.

For the stand, I just used a piece of chipboard which I attached to back of the frame with brads.  Then I scored at an inch from the top edge to achieve a straight fold.

PRIZE EGG found late Monday night!

We interrupt this design team post to update our Bunny Hop game! Mr. Bunny called me on his secret carrot hot line, and said 1 EGG has been returned to him! Got Worms?

Hello creative peeps!  I apologize, my card for today has lots of holes on it.  There are a bunch of little creatures that just want to crawl out, and I just can't control them.  These worms love attention, you see, and they just like to be followed.  I have a secret to tell you too - they love to read comments!

 

But you know it's often typical to have one that's completely the opposite.  This worm on the inside is quite shy and prefers to be alone.  But when the coast is clear, it likes to come out and read comments as well.

Happy St Patrick's Day week!  I just cannot help doing another green themed card.  LOVE the COLOR!!!  Here I have used the "Hooked On Fishing" set.  This particular sentiment could be used for other themes besides fishing.  I have used it for a little KUDOS card.  Perfect for a co-worker or special friend!  Hope you are inspired to think outside the "stamp"!

Catch of the Day

Hello everyone!  Time sure flies...  it's already been 4 weeks since I became a part of Creative Vision's DT5.  Woot!

Just came back from a 9-day vacation down in warm and sunny Florida.  During our trip, we bought a pack of key lime taffy, which was my inspiration for today's project:

The heat embossed image and sentiment are from the Hooked On Fishing set.
  

Meanwhile, the paper bowl is a type of origami, made from a sheet of 8 x 8 cardstock.  I focused on tropical colors to remind me of the nice and sunny weather from way down south.

On the Lake

Hooked on Fishing

Hello everyone!  How's the weather in your location?  It has been very cold, snowy and windy in our part of Northern Michigan.  You may find this funny, but despite that, I still like winter.  However I'm starting to miss summer and a lot of fun activities we do during that time of the year.

Those are the things I was thinking of while making this card.  I was picturing weathered wood on the beach with fishermen's nets hanging on it.  And the stamps from Hooked On Fishing set was perfect for what I wanted to depict.

Got Worms?

Good morning everyone! D'Anne here. I am super excited to begin my design team term with Creative Vision. Over the next 4 months you will have "Monday's, with D'Anne." Grab yourself something to drink, put your feet up and relax as you take in the inspiration.

Today I'm sharing a Gel Pocket Card. This card was created using the 'Hooked on Fishing' stamp set. Yes, you guess it....this card was created with styling gel. Using styling gel gives the appearance of the worm enjoying a relaxing swim.

The card is too cute for words but, I love the saying, 'Got Worms.' This stamp set would be perfect for your craft project, scrapbooking, invitation, paper product, cards and everything else.

When I first received this stamp set I knew it was going to be the first one I used. The 10 catchy phrases and images of the stamp set "Hooked on Fishing" jumped at me!  I also knew that when I saw this cute little guy I would be using him on my first project....he reminds me of the silly story kids tell about "Hermie the Worm" - SO CUTE!  I tried to keep the card simple to showcase my pal Hermie and I hope you can all agree he steals the show!

Hope today finds you enjoy your stamping place! :-) I am actually headed out to Sea World by the time you are reading this, with my Granddaughter, Step-Mom and her Granddaughter! Should be some fun times!

Since Father's Day is Sunday, I thought I would show you a project I have been working on for my Hubby. This little "Tackle Box" will house some of his favorite candies (WHOOPERS) and some homemade Salsa. I really liked how it turned out, and it will go great with his hunting picture frame I made as well.

Hi all! Chelsea here, reporting from the great state of South Dakota! I'm so thrilled to be part of DT3! I wanna thank Laura for picking me to join the team and all the little people that got me to where I am today...ha ha ok, that was my goofy Friday humor (or lack there of). I'm no comedian so I'll just jump right into why I'm here....to post a card made with CCS's rockin' stamps! WOO HOO!!! I used the Hooked on Fishing set for this card.

The poor little wormy just sitting there on his hook waiting to be some big fishes dinner. If you look closer, on the brown you can see the bobbers that I stamped in versa mark as well. This set is so versatile and fun. You must run, don't walk, right over to the store and grab yourself a Hooked on Fishing set. While your there pick up a few other things as well. Have a fantastic weekend!

Got Worms?

I know...this is just BAD! :o) Hooked on Fishing from Creative Clear Stamps has the cutest little worm and honestly, this sentiment just cracks me up! I thought this card would be cute given with a package of gummy worms which my kids LOVE...(I should have taken the photo with the card and the gummy worms, but someone in my house ATE them, LOL!) I noticed on the site that Hooked on Fishing is one of the top three sellers so if you have a fisherman in your house, this would be too cute to create with.

There are some fabulous new holiday stamps that were just released and available at a fantastic price (can you beat $10 a set???) You have got to check them out...I just squealed when I saw them and so excited for them to arrive!

Slipping in under the wire...

So normally I've been splitting my projects into separate posts -- gotta provide some excitement for you all right? :D Unfortunately for you all, I've been running around like a chicken w/o a head.

So we're gonna cram a bunch of projects in this post and a post tomorrow. Sorry kiddos! On another note, I do have two projects for next month all ready since I'll be on a business trip for most of August. So those will be scheduled in for your viewing excitement.

Shall we begin?

Ok, so aside from candy treats, I figured we'd make one a little more friendly on the teeth. ;-) When we were younger, my mom would pass out bookmarks for Halloween... and I used to wonder why no one ever came to our house... Yeah... But these are so much cuter and I'm sure they'll make my house this year a real treat. ;-) Ok... I won't be too mean - we'll throw some candy with it as well!

This is a fun little bookmark made with both the Gone Fishing set and the Pattern Alphabet set. The text background is just from an old book I found laying around. Who wouldn't want to crack open a book just to see this cutie patootie worm? ;-)

These are just some mini cards I whipped up with the Get Well Set. Mini cards are great for attaching to some flowers from your garden, some homemade goodies, etc. They're also perfect for those just because cards. And cos they're so small, they're a lot quicker to whip up when you're busy!

Worm Box

This cute little box uses the set Hooked on Fishing. This is a cute little favor box and one of my favorite templates to make. The little worm from the set is so cute and I cut him out and gave him some googly eyes so he would stand out a bit. I also stamped Got Worms in red staz-on on the acetate window and it looks much better in person.

Even if you don't fish, you can make some cute projects with this set. Kids love stuff like this and my girls loved both my projects with this set.

Tackle Box

I used the set Hooked on Fishing to make an edible Tackle Box. Edible for us-- I don't think the fish will bite with this bait. My girls love this box that I filled with worms (gummy) and minnows (swedish fish). This is a quick, fun project that tastes great! Swedish fish are delicious!

Hooked on Fishing and Hunting...

I like to eat fish but I dont think I could catch one to save my life..however the fish on my card were easy to catch. I used the hooked on fishing phrase from the hooked on fishing set

I cut the waves to add dimension and slipped the fish behind the waves. I used some string for the fishing line and use a die cut for the sun. I wish I could catch fish this easily :)

I found these notepads from the dollar store last month - I thought they would be great to have one by the phone to write down messages etc. These would make a quick and easy addition to a gift...I used the Live2Hunt stamp as well as the tracks from the Gone Hunting Set - I stamped all the pages of the notepad just like the front one shown.

Another great dolalr store find...I came across this coiled notebook with the camo cover and thought it would be perfect with the Gone Hunting stamp set. I put together a quick book that could be given to the hunter in your life (or used by you!)...I kept it simple since the book might spend most of its time in the wild. I stamped the phrases on to cardstock and attached to the front cover as part of the belt buckle that was on the cover. I then stamped the tracks on every page inside the notebook.

It is easy to find little items at a local dollar store, Target etc and just a few simple things can dress them up or make a good addition to a gift. I would love to see some quick and simple gift ideas etc that you have made using Laura's stamps. I can think of some great stamps that would make for great notepads...quick and easy. :)
